Laura Hernando Folch is an archaeologist and paleobiologist. She holds a degree in Archaeology (UAB, 2019), an MSc in Paleobiology and Fossil Record (UAB-UB-ICP, 2020), and an MA in Cultural Management (UOC, 2026).

She has worked at the Archaeology and Paleontology Service of the Government of Catalonia and as a collections technician in the collections department of the Catalan Institute of Human Paleoecology and Social Evolution (IPHES, Tarragona, Spain). Her experience focuses on the management and documentation of archaeological and paleontological collections, including the review and coding of records, the management of research loans, and the preparation of large annual returns while ensuring traceability and compliance with institutional protocols. She has also participated in the reorganization of collection spaces, the creation of reference collections, and the updating of protocols and databases.

Since 2016, she has participated as a volunteer and archaeology assistant in several archaeological and paleontological sites both nationally (Catalonia, Spain) and internationally (Italy and Egypt), gaining experience in excavation, processing, and management of archaeological and paleontological materials.

She frequently takes part in science outreach and STEAM education activities aimed at students and the general public. She has collaborated in initiatives such as Letters to a Pre-Scientist, Inspira STEAM, and 100tífiques, which promote scientific vocations, especially among young people and girls, as well as in outreach events such as Pint of Science, the Barcelona Science Festival, and the European Researchers’ Night. In parallel, she participates in activities that promote diversity and inclusion within science, such as Pride in Sciences.
