The ICP is part of CERCA-GINYS, an initiative that combines the scientific and technical experimental facilities of the 41 CERCA centres in Catalonia. CERCA-GINYS has created a platform that facilitates the discovery of the more than 190 experimental facilities that are part of the infrastructure of the centers, allowing both the Catalan scientific research community and industrial sector to benefit from the services delivered by cutting-edge facilities.
At this moment, the ICP participates in the CERCA-GINYS offering the following facilities with its specialised staff:
- 3D Virtual Lab. This lab offers services of industrial computed tomography, image Processing and CAD Service, Laser and photogrammetric digitization and 3D printing
- Paleohistology Lab. This lab offers the preparation of thin sections for fields like Histology, Paleontology, Petrography, Optical Mineralogy and Archeology
- Preparation and conservation Lab. This lab offers services such as preparation, conservation and restoration of fossils and specimens natural history collections, molding and casting and preventive conservation services among others.
