Grants for the recruitment of early-stage research staff (FI 2018)
The process for submittal of applications will be open from 22nd September untill 16th October 2017.
Awarded grants have a duration of one year and may be renewed for a maximum two annual periods.
At the end of each year, the candidates shall submit a report on the work done, and the goals and the work plan for the following year. Renewal of the grants for the following year will be conditional upon favourable evaluation of the reports, the requirements set forth in the corresponding call for renewal of the grants and budget availability
Both the defence of the thesis and withdrawal from the programme shall entail the termination of the contract and loss of the grant.
Research teams from universities in the Catalan universities system, research centres, and hospital foundations with an operational presence in Catalonia that have capacity to employ may benefit from these grants.
The grant is aimed to fund the salary and the employer's Social Security contribution of the research staff recruited. The contracts must be formalised by 1st March. 2018, at the very latest. All contracts must start on the first day of the month.
In relation to non-UE candidates, the contracts can be formalized until the 1st May 2018. Likewise and in exceptional and duly justified cases the AGAUR will be able to authorize an extension of the deadline for the incorporation, for beneficiaris from a non-EU country. The requests for that extension must be requested within the deadline for incoporation..
The grant, it is to be used to cover the salary and employer's national insurance contribution for the research employees recruited. For the first annual period, the minimum gross annual compensation to be paid to the individuals recruited is 14,400.00 euros.
For all the beneficiaries included in the FI programme for at least three months, the AGAUR will pay the universities the sum equivalent to the official fees for academic supervision of doctoral studies for the academic year stipulated in the call.
Researchers with a period of more than 6 months in the programme will be provided with additional funding for training activities.
