Predoctoral researcher. Neogen and Quaternary Fauna

He had his bachelor in Geology (University of Perugia UNIPG, Italy, 2014) with the thesis “Description and tomographic analysis of a mandible of Sus strozzii from the Pleistocene site of Pantalla di Todi (Italy)” and his master in Petroleum Geology with the thesis “Description of Bison remains from the Pleistocene site of Vallparadís (Spain) and comparison with the bovid sample from Ellera di Corciano (Italy)” (University of Perugia UNIPG, Italy, 2016). He is specialized in the study of large herbivore mammals of Early Pleistocene in the Mediterranean area. His works are focused on the origins of the extant ungulate taxa during the Villafranchian and on the faunal turnover that characterized the European continent during the Epivillafranchian. He participated to various excavation campaigns in Italy, France and Spain since 2010.
Presently he is a pre-doctoral researcher at the Neogene and Quaternary fauna department of the Institut Català de Paleontologia Miquel Crusafont (ICP) under the supervision of Prof. Salvador Moyà-Solà (ICP), Dr. Joan Madurell-Malapeira (ICP) and Dr. Marco Cherin (UNIPG). His thesis centers on the study of the ungulate communities that characterized the large mammal guilds of Mediterranean Europe (in particular Iberian and Italian peninsulas) during the Early Pleistocene with a focus on the taxonomy, paleobiology ad dispersal events.
His project is funded by the FI grant from the Departament d'Empresa i Coneixement (Generalitat de Catalunya), the Agència de Gestió d'Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca (AGAUR) and Secretaria d'Universitats i Recerca (Generalitat de Catalunya), co-founded by the Fons Social Europeu (FSE).
