The course deals with understanding the organic form from a dynamic point of view: the organic form can not evolve in any way, but is limited by restrictions not only functional but also for its history and the mechanisms of production. Concepts of evolutionary developmental biology (Evo-Devo) will be introduced and the need to see that adaptations do not conclude on optimals because of all these limitations and those imposed by chance will be stressed. This will allow assessing the morphological characteristics and their value as taxonomic characters.
