Institut Català de Paleontologia
The Institut Català de Paleontologia (ICP) is a private foundation created in November of 2006, with the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona as patrons, which constitutes a contrast from the Institut de Paleontologia Miquel Crusafont, founded in 1969.

The ICP discovers a new hominid species

Anoiapithecus brevirostris is a species from the hominid genus that is 11.9 million years old. It was discovered by ICP researchers who found a partial cranium fossil at a site in Abocador de Can Mata in Hosteltes de Pierola, Catalonia.

The video shows a three-dimensional reconstruction of the partial cranium that the researchers found.
